This Saturday is Software Freedom Day
2007. My local event is in Bracknell where a friend from my LUG has
organised an event. Alas there is engineering work on the trains so I
can't get there to help out!

I would argue that Linux uptake is starting and in larger organisations
it's now gaining traction. However, for the home user and small organisation
it's only happening if the person is a "convert" otherwise that sector is
stuck with expensive shrink-wrapped software, for reasons very much as
Kim describes.
